At 5-foot-10, the Chartiers Valley wing brings the strength to finish inside and the shooting to score away from the basket. She can attack at all three levels and rebound at a high level. Ask what her teammates can count on, though, and Davis starts with effort.
Now the Class of 2028 standout is bringing that game to SLAAM’s Power 24 team, coached by Justin Binion.
“Alyssa is one of the most versatile scorers in the WPIAL, and what makes her so tough to defend is her ability to beat you in so many different ways,” Binion said. “She’s a strong, physical wing who rebounds at a high level and has a great feel for the game.”
Davis earned first-team all-section recognition in WPIAL Class 5A in 2025-26, averaging roughly 16 points and 7.2 rebounds per game for Chartiers Valley. Her sophomore season included 25 points and 16 rebounds against Trinity and 23 points and seven rebounds against Peters Township.
“I love how she’s a team-first player who competes hard, and will do what’s asked of her to help the team win,” Binion said.
Davis’s confidence began growing before those individual honors arrived.
As a freshman, she earned varsity minutes on a Chartiers Valley team with six seniors. She remembers being the second player off the bench, an opportunity that made her proud and helped her realize how much she could accomplish in the game.
A year later, she had earned a place on the all-section first team. And when the news came, her dad cried.
He had been part of the work that led there. Davis said he rebounds for her, helps find opportunities for her to improve, and keeps investing in her development. His reaction to her recognition showed her just how much that journey meant to him, too.
“It shows me how much he cares,” Davis said.
The recognition gave them something to celebrate together. Davis’s next priorities are shooting and ball handling, two skills that can give her even more options on the wing. She spends time in the weight room, shoots on her own, and works out with teammates.
That commitment extends to the classroom, where Davis carries a 4.7 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society and Math Honor Society. She is interested in studying math or science.
Away from the gym and classroom, she enjoys cooking pasta and baking chocolate chip or M&M cookies.
Chestnut Hill College has already offered Davis an opportunity to play at the Division II level. She hopes to earn more college opportunities while continuing to develop her game, grow as a person, and build new friendships at SLAAM.
What drew her to the program was seeing other players grow and accomplish their goals.
“I just wanted to be a part of it,” she said.
SLAAM is getting a physical, versatile wing who can score, rebound, and put the team first. Davis is joining a program whose player development drew her here in the first place. She brings an established résumé and clear ambitions: keep expanding her game, help SLAAM win, and prepare for the next level.
